    Twin Cities Housing Stats DecemberDecember Sees an Increase in Sold Listings as Inventory and New Listings Continue to Decrease

    According to the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS’ December 2015 Report on the Twin Cities Area Housing Market, December ended with 2601 new active listings of homes for sale, a decrease of -31.3 percent month-over-month. As compared to the previous year, new listings are up 1.2%.

    December total inventory level is 10,166 homes on the market. Inventory is down -21.8% from the previous year and -21.7% as compared to the previous month.

    During December, there were 3907 sold listings, a 16.9% increase compared to the previous month and 12.1% increase compared to this time last year.

    Home prices continue to remain steady. The average sold price for a single family home was $265,049, down only 1% compared to last month, and 4.9% higher than a year ago.
